My name is Reb, I am a 30-something Navy wife raising two kids and a dog, while juggling working full-time, going to school full-time…
Been married to the love of my life for 10 (!) years and my husband has been in the Navy almost as long. We’ve been so lucky with where we have been able to live and travel, we’ve been in Spain for three years and have gotten to see so much of Europe! I’d like to be able to show people just a little bit of what its like to live in Andalucia, a wonderful quirky part of Spain full of the most awesome people ever.
I started this blog to chronicle our transition from moving from Southern Spain to the other side of the world, Oahu, Hawaii. I’m a little intimidated, I’m not gonna lie!

i love you idea of making a web site about you but why not put some thing about your kids too. i think it is so hilarios that your dog threw up under wear. you should make a selection for kids
Hello! My name is Kristina and I am the blogger behind My Traveling Troop. I launched the blog to help military families who move, live and travel around the world. I try to do this by sharing my own family’s experience at different duty stations around the world, as well as by providing a forum for other military families to share their experiences and tips too.
I’d be honored to interview you about your experience and tips about living in Rota. If you’re interested, feel free to email me at mytravelingtroop@gmail.com Below are examples of other spouses I’ve interviewed.
Thank you for your time and consideration! I look forward to hearing from you! And enjoy the rest of your time in Spain!
Best,
Kristina Doss

Great blog Reb! I love all the pictures! So when are we having that meet up in Hawaii again??
You ladies are welcome to come on over anytime!
Hooyah Reb! We are a Navy family in Okinawa. Been stationed all over too… was in Egypt… Italy, Turkey and Mainland Japan besides Okinawa. Keep the faith and stay strong.
Thank you for taking care of the family while your husband is deployed. I appreciate his service and applauded you.
FYI: I was looking at military blogs and came across the picture of your son with the flowers. I paused and started at the photo for about 10 seconds before I could determine that he is not my son. It is unbelievable the resemblance. I will forward this to my wife but they look like twins.
Full disclosure: My son is adopted so everyone is in the clear. There are no photos of him on my blog but you are alwasy welcome to stop in.
That’s cool.
My husband spent a lot of time in Rota and we raised three babies in Hawaii. Hang in there, Pearl Harbor is a great place for families! Best beach for kids…Ko Olina! And make sure and go to the zoo in downtown. Great cheap fun for kids.
Thanks for sharing! I’ve enjoyed reading your posts and especially appreciate all that you shared about your time in Rota. We recently found out we will be heading there in the near future and with everything you’ve written about your time there, we really look forward to the experience!
Enjoy! It is a wonderful place to live, just go in with an open mind and with the knowledge that you are NOT in America! I miss it every day!
Thanks! It’ll be our first overseas PCS, but we’ve always wanted to travel to Europe and are excited for the opportunity–as much of a surprise as it was. Used to it by now I guess. And you did it with 2 kids! That’s reassuring as a new mom.
