Done!

I am done with school! I can’t believe it, it only took a decade, but I am finally a college graduate! Well I still need to get my final grades back and actually graduate but I don’t have any more WORK to do!

It’s amazing how stressed out just knowing that I always had school work to do, or a test coming up, or a paper to write. Now I feel like I can actually relax! When I turned in my final research paper last night (at midnight of course!) it was the BEST feeling ever!

So of course now I can’t wait to get that degree in my hot little hand and maybe even get a REAL job one of these days!

Of course my husband is pushing for me to go back to school when we move but I told him he needs to ask me in a year, I can’t even think about it right now!

My brain is tired…

So after working all day long (okay I had lots and lots of breaks, taught Omar how to ride a bike and made dinner in there) I am STILL not done with either my final or my final research project. This sucks! I am so tired! I am realllly trying to get my final done tonight so at least that is one thing I can check off. Only two more essay questions to go and I’ll be good.

Does anyone feel like writing a couple of pages on limiting water consumption on Naval Station Rota? So close to being DONE! I swear to God, any ideas I had about going back to school for my Master’s degree? Forget it! I am never going back to school EVER!

I was an absolutely beautiful day and I was very upset we couldn’t be out enjoying it, but I was stuck at home with schoolwork and hubby was sitting in class himself.

Also? It looks like we won’t be getting orders until a month before we leave. Great.

Hope you are having WAY more fun that I am this weekend!

Homemade Pizza Lunchables

My daughter LOVES me! My best friend saw this online and had mentioned it to me one of the last times we talked on the phone (she knows how crazy I am!) She said she was going to give it a try and I just had to as well… Super super easy and cheaper and hopefully a bit healthier than the prepackaged junk!

Make pizza dough and cut it into individual pizza size. I went with a shape that I was hoping would fit into her lunchbox.

Image

Please make sure you take it in the dark like I apparently did (also ignore my ugly pizza crust!)

Bake the pizza crust and let cool. I then stored them in the freezer until I was ready to use them.  When I packed her lunch I packed two pizzas which I think was plenty.

Image

I also packed a little spreader for the pizza sauce.  Homemade granola bites also made an appearance. Let me just say that her lunch was the talk of the lunch table and she was one happy girl!

Try this!

Make this!

Saw this while I was wasting time being productive on pinterest. Super fast and easier than monkey bread.

Ingredients:

1 tube Pilsbury Grand Biscuits (I used the flaky layers ones)

3 tbsp. melted butter

1/2 c. syrup

1/3c. brown sugar

1/2 tsp. cinnamon

And nuts are optional but I threw some walnuts in there.

Mix the butter and syrup. Pour half into the pan. Mix brown sugar, cinnamon and nuts and sprinkle half of that into the pan as well.

Lay your biscuits around, overlapping. You could probably use two tubes and have them standing up more but this amount worked out fine for our family.

Image

Pour the rest of the syrup mixture and sugar mixture on top of the biscuits.

Bake at 375 for 20-25 minutes. Hello beautiful…

Flip that bad boy out onto a large plate.Careful that sugar is hot!

Pull apart and enjoy!

(FYI, please don’t attempt to make this or any other sticky sugary pull apart type dessert in a two piece pan! Use only a 1 piece pan or you could end up with serious burns from hot melted sugar!)

Really? NOW it’s going to rain!

Well we are finally getting some rain after a pretty dry winter. It’s a nice change from the crazy winds we’ve been getting (levantes). We really, really, really do need the rain because it doesn’t rain from about May to September and the reservoirs need to get filled up.

But it couldn’t have come at a worse time!

Today is our big base wide Easter Egg Extravaganza and it was cancelled due to a thunderstorm warning.

The kids are disappointed but with a thunderstorm warning in effect there really isn’t anything anyone can do about it. We are hoping to reschedule it for next weekend. It’s only a pain for me because I was going to be working it so I got up early on a Saturday!

And of course everyone is just mad because it was cancelled, no matter that it was for safety reasons. Oh well you just can’t make some people happy! Meanwhile after cleaning everything up and packing it all away I got to come home earlier than I thought which was nice. Now I am going to have to try to motivate myself to get some stuff done today instead of enjoying the rain from my couch with a cup of coffee!
