Making Our House a Home…

Kinda.

Trying to anyways.

So I was bored as heck yesterday, no friends to hang out with, and complaining to my husband about how bored I was and he said, go plant some flowers. So I did.

I forgot how much I really do enjoy gardening. That bed was just a mess of weeds and snails before and it looks SO much better now. Plus I got a ton of plants from the clearance section at the Garden Shop. Yay for 75% off plants! I buy them and tell myself “I can rebuild them” like they are the 6 Million Man. Got lots of fun stuff and can’t wait until it all fills in.  Now just need to get some seating up on the porch and it will look great out front!

Also, found the drill! Got to hang some pictures.

I have a TON more stuff to hang but I don’t know where I want to put it! Plus I have a mirror that needs two people to hang. Where is my sister! I need her to come do this, she is the designer!

But anyways, I am finally starting to get this house together, it’s been hard feeling like this is home without my honey here. But I want him to come home to a real home.

Taking a minute to recap the little things that made my week!

First off, after trying to stay away for months, I am officially addicted to Pinterest. It is absolute pure evil but I have found SO many great ideas for M’s birthday party next week.  If you are on Pinterest come follow me, here!

Next up I did try one of the hair ideas I found, no heat curls. Super easy, involves a headband and sleeping with your hair looking crazy but when I woke up my stick straight hair looked like this:

Also had a great dinner out with friends at one of my favorite restaurants 100 Montaditos this week.

It’s the Little Things {new shoes & Saturdays}

The little things that made my week:

Mama got a new pair of shoes… Of course the LAST thing I needed was another pair of impractical heels but damn it, I just can’t resist! $30 and hey I wore them to the mall today so at least they won’t be sitting unworn in my closet!

Yay for new shoesies!

Friday night I went to Bunco with some friends, I only knew a couple of people that were there and was a little bit nervous about going but it ended up being SO much fun. Bunco is basically Yahtzee for inebriated women.  Ended up being there until after 1am and then caught a ride back to base…. I think some of the hard core ladies were going to go out on the town for drinks… Have fun, I was wiped out!

My husband dragging me out for a 3.75 run/walk (that really should be walk/run because my butt is WAY outta shape) It was horrible but I’m still glad I did it… He had to keep running ahead and doubling back because I am so slow so he probably ran more like 6 miles!

And to make up for the run, we had dinner at McDonald’s! We RARELY eat fast food, maybe once a month so it was a yummy treat. I do love me some Big Macs, and the fries here are WAY better than stateside.

{Little thing numero uno}

Free dental care overseas!

And that includes orthodontics! M got a retainer on Friday, she only has a slight crossbite but the orthodontist said he’ll probably be able to fix it with just the retainer. We’ll go in for a recheck in a few week and if it’s not improving she’ll have to get brackets on the front 4 upper teeth (still free!)

{Little thing numero dos}

My dog decided to go on a walkabout this week as well.  Back gate was left open and when my husband and kids came home they saw him in the street surrounded by kids.  Well they didn’t think he had even left our immediate area but then on Facebook I see that he actually traveled a few streets over and was saying ‘hi’ to everyone! Silly dog! Glad everything was okay, we love this silly dog!
